About the event

UOPISA Pacific Week is our opportunity to celebrate and showcase Pacific culture on the University of Otago campus - for an entire week! Every day has a different event co-hosted by our Pacific member associations with a focus on aspects of health and well-being. All the events relate to our week's theme, a Rotuman proverb, E le'e se 'ua e tōtō ai, which means 'The rain will stop; no storm lasts forever'. Throughout the week we will explore how we, as Pacific students, can develop resilience to weather any storm and emerge on the other side with a strong sense of well-being and cultural identity.

Breakdown of UOPISA Pacific Week:

  • Monday 11 September - Mental Health (OSSA x HOPSA)
  • Tuesday 12 September - Spiritual Health (OFISA x OMISA)
  • Wednesday 13 September - Physical Health (OTSA x BOPSA)
  • Thursday 14 September - Social Health (ONSA x SSPIA)
  • Friday 15 September - Environmental Health (OKISA x PILSA)
